I've been a mommy by heart since I was a little girl and a mommy to my own for over Five years now. There is little more I love then to learn about new, and in some cases better ways to be a parent. I find learning in every opportunity I can. Lets just say MommyCon totally hits the come to learn nerve in my soul! I am super excited and her are my top five reasons why!

  1. Connecting and Networking- I am typically a very shy person but get me with the right group and I bloom. The number one thing I am looking forward to is meeting like minded mama's and vendors. I see this as a chance to share stories and make new friend.
  2. Ridiculous Amounts of Fun- Shopping, seminars, a road trip to the event. These are just some things I think will be fun. A chance to explore learn and grow is just what I am needing right now. Not to mention goody bags, a baby wearing lounge and giveaways!
  3. learning New Information and of New Products- I really do thrive in an environment where I can learn. My day to day life gives me very few chances to do anything other then the ordinary. Having an opportunity to not only listen to expert speakers but to also listen to other moms is something I know I will take away from. There is gold nuggets of truth bound to be found!
  4. A Chance to Get Away and Refocus-  Daily my stress levels are high and sometimes I forget what my most important job is... taking care of me, so that I can take care of my family.
  5. Getting involved and Helping Others- I see an chance to not only learn but to also teach. Maybe there will be one other mama who will cross my path who I might have the perfect words for. Maybe I can help just one mama give breastfeeding another day. Because any amount of breast milk is awesome!
I am giving away two tickets! One to two separate winners. That way if you want a buddy to go you can split cost, or maybe your going alone. It's all up to you! You could even possibly win both! Here ya go ladies!

Tickets can be used for most locations dependant on date and availability.

WAHM Review: Ninny Biscuits GIVEAWAY

One of the biggest concerns of nursing mothers is a lack of supply. Practically from the time we start nursing we wonder if we are making enough milk for our babies. We wonder if we are enough. Typically speaking we do generally produce more than enough milk for our babies. However there are things we do to our bodies that can decrease our supply. One of which is pumping more then we are actually nursing our baby. This has been my trouble. And so when I met with Cheryl a lactation cookie making mama. I thought to myself why not give it a try. Between issues with the pump and the flanges, and never really being near baby enough I needed a little something to give me a boost. Ninny Biscuits provided just that.

Ninny Biscuits are a quick and easy solution to us moms who don't have enough time to whip up a batch of our own lactation cookies. Cheryl has pre-made mixes and all you have to do is add a couple of ingredients. The cookies bake quickly and tastes great. They are easy enough to let the kids help. Ninny Biscuits is a sweet solution to a low supply.

I love helping a work at home mom. I wish that my job didn't have such amazing benefits and I too could stay at home with my kids. So my heart is heavy with a need to help working moms. Cheryl is a Mama of my own heart who looks to help other nursing mommies. She uses excellent quality ingredients and offers an array of yummy selections.

The cookies I tested were chocolate and toffee. They were easy to make. They have clear instructions  and a great ingredients list . My kids also thought they were quite delicious. From a nutritional cookie I think that's a pretty good sign of great taste. I loved enjoying these cookies in the morning. They would hit the spot and keep the hunger at bay, and I noticed a good improvement in my supply.

I plan to continue to order from Ninny Biscuits due to not having time to create my own milk increasing concoctions. I need the supply boost and ordering from another mama is a great way to get my fix. I also have goals to extend breastfeeding and maybe even donate later. This all creates a need for a boost.

My first order will be for one of you lucky readers! Leave a blog comment telling us a way you increase your supply, or other supply fun fact.  One reader will win one bag of cookie mix!

Why I sleep with my baby.

It's an endless debate and one of the most challenging things you will have to decide  as a parent. I know that my choice was not made until after our oldest was born and we'll nothing was how I expected.

Before having RL I imagined multiple  nightly baby wake up calls. I imagined that dad would wake up with us girls, walk to the baby's bed, bring me baby, I would nurse, and then daddy would put back the quietly sleeping baby. Yeah....No that never happened.

What did happen is daddy slept on the couch and me and baby discovered  co-sleeping. It was something I never imagined happening, and honestly  had not done any research on. But I found it both successful  and satisfying in achieving  relatively restful nights. I tried to put miss stubborn down in the bassinet and her eyes would shoot open the moment her back touched the bed, and then they would close again and off to sleep she went nestled in my arm. So I gave in and decided okay co-sleeping was the only way we would get rest.

Five reasons I co-sleep,

1-  I get more sleep.  I figure that I am more of a risk to my baby, myself, and well anyone if I am well rested. To push myself beyond what I know I am capable of makes for a pretty mean Krissy... I find that when I have baby nestled beside me I sleep pretty great, and i almost have a crazy awareness of baby as we sleep. I feel that that getting sleep is better because then I dont risk falling into an unintended deep sleep of exhaustion.

2. Benefits to breastfeeding. Keeping baby close and skin to skin helps your body establish a healthy supply for your baby! Not to mention how easy it is to just latch baby for midnight feedings.

3. Body temperature regulation. Another awesome thing about a mothers chest is that it can help regulate a baby's body temperature. I never really feel like baby gets too hot or cold laying next to me.

4. I love the snuggles. It really is as simple as that. I really do sleep better with my baby close.

5. Trigger warning. Should my baby ever pass due to SIDS (as my older brother did at just 5 months old) I would want them to pass away next to me, even smothered by me, because I would never want my child to die in a bed alone. It is my worst fear.
