The Honest Company free trial review

My honest company review is deffinatly not the best they will ever receive, or that you will read.

The one thing I did like was the diapers. They have a great texture, and just feel softer. I love the waist band that wraps all the way around. My sons skin did seem less irritated by these diapers. The places where diapers rub around his legs and waist were less red at diaper changing time. The soiled diapers also had a different feel to them. The felt more like wet saw dust, compared to the normal squishy gelly feel.

The wipes seemed like any others to me. Although they did seem to be more scent free then ordinary wipes.

The laundry detergent was quite orderless, and colorless. I did like that. But I did not notice a difference in my cloths after they where washed. Also youH use one once per load, and with our current detergent we use half of that.

The shampoo was my least favorite item. It was very thin and you had to use a ton. I used the entire sample in one shower, that was between my 2 year olds hair and mine. I still needed to use more shampoo in my hair after the sample was gone, so I really didnt feel like I got to try it at all. Mind you I have pretty thick hair. When I called to cancel the subrcptions the representitive told me it was an old formula in the sample kit and that the new sample worked fine in her thick hair. The smell of the shampoo is really great though.

The hand soap is very thin like the shamoo. It also has a very fufu flowery smell I am not fond of.  My hands do seem less dryed out after washing. I dont think hand soap is the best sample to send out with lotion because I cant get a good feel for what is making a change when multiple product are all changing at once.

The healing balm is interesting. It has help decrese the dryness on my sons legs pretty well. Got ride of the ashey peely skin. It is very oily and slightly gritty. It does blend in nicely, but you still feel pretty oiled up. I found it has also really helped the dryness on my elbows. I also like that a little bit goes a long ways!

The face and body lotion is ok. I find it also very thin, and it has that same fufu smell. The thing that bothers me about the smell is it is not sothing my husband will use, and I dont like using such powerful smells on the kids. Its mild enough yes but still very noticeable.

I am probably not the best reviewer for their products as we already use a lot of green products. As mentioned before our laundry detergent, we also use green cleaners, and a few green beauty products.  If the diapers and wipes bundle was close to comprable to what we pay at Costco I would have kept that service. Alas, no matter how i try to figure it we would spend 20 dollars more a month with Honest diapers. Maybe if  I had seen a huge difference in the quality of diapers, or if they really made a differnece in my suns skin or rashes, I would pay the extra.

If you have any questions I would love to answer them. I recommend trying honest if you are not yet using other green products. The healing balm is great i recommend that for sure. I will keep trying other products and keep this as a living review. Honest gave a mothers day 10.00 credit so that says something about the company. Walking and Nursing and Nursing in Public

Sometimes my son needs my to walk while nursing him. I think its when hes very gassy and needs a little extra movement. I do this in two ways.

1- if i happen to be cradle holding i canusually just tand up and go. I let is little bum slide down a bit and nurse him kinda upright. I usually find myself needing to hold my breast so he can keep his good latch. This however is not a problem if we are walking and nursing n the moby.

2-  other times i will cross over feed. I use the arm opposit my nursing breast to support baby, and i upport the nursing breast with my same side hand. This method is a little harded on my arms but i usually feel more balanced.

Fivetips for nursing in public

1- use the moby. It makes it easy. There is enough fabric to keep yourself covered, and you are not fully supporting baby. You can keep walking around and doing your thing. No one usually even notices im nursing baby.

2- always wear two shirts. I almost always wear my nursing tank with a second shirt on top. Ten im not expossing my whole body, and the upper shirt i use to cover my breast up. My babies dont do nursing covers.

3- be confident. Baby reads your cues. If your feeling flustered they will too and achieving a good latch may be harder and may draw un wanted attention to your chest.

4- i always latch facing away from the crowd.  Once im covered and good to go i come out of my coner and keep doing whatever i need to. If your eating out try nursing on the breast thats toward the inside of the table, a booth works best for this.

5- if things get crazy try latching in the opposite of what your doing. I.E if your sitting stand if standing sit.

Bonus tip- dont let baby get too hungry. Try and predict when baby will need to eat. A overly hungry baby will be a crying attention grabber. Also read up on your states nursing laws knowing how the state sees public nursing may put you at ease.
